I want to add a user name and password to my website?

i have constructed my website in dream weaver 8, but i have now decided that i would like to add a user name and password entry system to access the website,,,,, but i,m a little confused aboue one issue that concerns the data base i need to construct.

if i construct my data base in ms access,,,,, do i store the data base in my root folder only, or do i have to upload the file to the webhost for storage in another facility that they provide,,,,

this will be the first time i have built a data base and i have many books that advise me on the building aspect,,,,, but to be honest none have made it very clear on the storage location,, i only need to store simple imformation for example:- a user name.... a password, and off course address details,,,,,, nothing to complicated,,,, i,m useing ms access as the data base builder,,,,

You%26#039;d need to upload the database to your server the location doesn%26#039;t really matter. You need to make sure that your CHMOD settings are 777 for the database. Have you written the site in .Asp or PHP? and what type of connection have you used to connect to the database e.g. ADODB? if you can provide this I migh t be able to help more.
