I got an acct w/ Dreamhost Ive never done this before I want to know my BEST options are for develop

I know they have a %26quot;getting started%26quot; page but it sucks and all i get are more questions from it. I have Ubuntu and Firefox. so far ive installed %26quot;Bluefish%26quot; (html editor) FTP from firefox. I think this will work okay right ? maybe i could just use a website builder just to get the site up quickly. if i use templates would I have complete SEO control ? My only exp. is using a free website builder from brinkster and i need to figure the best possible way i can create a interactive site with a %26quot;Build your own%26quot; cowboy rhinestone shirts. so there would be a top a bottom, the %26quot;cut%26quot; which joins them and special extras like flashy embellishments, rhinestone designs etc..the person can choose from different fabrics and then see what it will look like all together. Would i be best to use flash for this ? where should i get something like that ? how advanced is it to do a site with this capability ? how should i do it ? Flash ? javascript ? What about Joomla ? could this help me in any real way ?

You%26#039;re asking excellent questions, but the variety and breadth of your questions suggests one solution: You need to hire a professional developer. The cost of doing so will be a lot less than the cost of the time you%26#039;ll spend trying to learn the programming yourself, not to mention the frustration you%26#039;ll experience along the way.

Ecommerce sites don%26#039;t get built overnight, and if you%26#039;re wanting a %26quot;build your own%26quot; tool as part of the user experience, you%26#039;re going well beyond the basics.

I%26#039;m not a developer anymore (I do marketing), but I used to be. And I%26#039;ve seen all kinds of people with ideas (like you) try to save some money and do it themselves, and end up spending more time to create something that%26#039;s inferior to what a professional would%26#039;ve done in shorter time.

If you%26#039;re serious about this idea and about making money online, hire a professional.

Best of luck!
