I am a new website builder and I am ignorent of the means of income from my site. Please suggest the ways and methods of income from my website.

I assume %26#039;your site%26#039; is the site you are promoting our web design services from. I will try and answer your first question first- How to make income from your site. The easy answer is that a site, like any other form of advertising medium, requires people to find it, be interested in it/what is offered, and follow through by contacting you for the product/service. So for this, as well as for sites you will design for customers, you will need to understand user interface design principles first, and technology to %26#039;make it happen%26#039; next. Lastly, to make money with a site, it needs to be marketed.

This is the most bare-bones answer, there are volumes written on this subject. I suggest looking at sites like www.webmonkey.com or google %26quot;principles of successful web development%26#039; and see what comes up.

Second, you ask about payment. I can%26#039;t speak for everyone else, but I first meet with a client and we discuss purpose/audience/content/distribution area, get a written contract!!! , create a flowchart outlining the main pages/sections, then agree on a price and get one-third as a retainer fee. I set off and create between 3 and 4 design proofs for the customer to approve the %26#039;look%26#039; of the interface (don%26#039;t do this in HTML, use a program like adobe illustrator)- once we get a signed approval, then go off and start the html- use a program which writes clean html like macromedia dreamweaver. After the pages have the basic structures, and content upload to server and bill for the next installment (2nd %26#039;third%26#039;). Then, expect customer changes, back and forth- be careful here--- if not in original agreemnent, bill separetely for any %26#039;extra%26#039; work. Once the changes are made, upload final changes and bill for the last installment (3rd %26#039;third)- then offer web promotion services! Tell you customet that even the best site wont drive people to it unless the world knows it%26#039;s there.------ All of what I mentioned here is all fine and good, but there is a lot to it- look at you local bookstore for books on these subjects, or take some classes- heck, if you ever end up in cookeville, tennessee- take a class from me at
