The website builder i use doesn%26#039;t accept bitmap. So If i want to put a picture on my site - i have to convert the picture to jpeg, or gif.

Other Replys:Any image editing program such as photo shop, or even Microsoft Paint in Windows XP will let you open a bitmap image and save it as a JPEG.

Simply go to Save-As in the file menu, and there is a drop down box under the place where you type in teh file name ussually, that will let you select teh type of file you want to save the image to. Select JPEG for photos, GIF for simple low color %26quot;clipart%26quot; and enjoy :)

Other Replys:ADVICE : never convert images by renaming them from .bmp into .jpg .... always use converting software or imaging software like ACDsee or Irfranview ....use irfanview because it is a free software ...just open the .bmp file and click on save as and choose the file type which you want .....hope this solves your answer
