I keep getting sent to career builder no matter what address i put in and it%26#039;s not much help. I am looking for a job in the education/ early intervention field in the Hartford , CT area.
Does anyone know a really good job seach website?
Have you thought of contacting any headhunters in Hartford area that specialize in your area?
My daughter just spent two years looking for jobs off of Monster, Yahoo Hot Jobs!, etc with no luck, a lot of dead ends and a lot of %26#039;job%26#039;s already filled%26#039; and the only people who responded to her posted resume were the spamming job %26quot;make $100,000 working form your own home%26quot; etc.
She decided she wanted to work in Atlanta. On her first day in the city she tried several headhunters, and within 1 week had several interviews, and within another week had two firm job offers from Fortune 500 companies to choose from. Both jobs were only listed through the headhunter.
Since you have identified an area where you want to work (Hartford, Connecticut), I would search the Yellow Pages looking for employment agencies, head hunters, etc and call them up and see which has openings in your area of expertise.
Alternatively, you can go to your local public library. There is a reference book available that lists reputable employment search firms in the US by geographic location and work area expertise.
